Online Courses 2010-2011

For 2010-2011 I will be teaching online four sections of Composition 2, suitable for eighth grade and up, through Veritas Press Scholars Academy. I will teach each ninety-minute class primarily with audio lecture and interaction, using Power Point and whiteboard capabilities, and ten to twenty students will participate via chat window and microphone.  Students submit about three formal writing assignments per semester, and I will offer ongoing feedback and evaluation in class meetings, in a kind of workshop format. The cost for the year is $550, plus books.

   The Lively Art of Writing, by Lucile Payne

   Classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning at 8:00, 9:30, 12:30, or 2:00 Eastern Time, starting Labor Day and ending the last week in May, with a week off for Thanksgiving and two weeks off for Christmas. Registration opens for new students on February 10, 2010. Click here to register.
